Andretti Global, Acura Unite for Landmark Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Nation’s Capital

INDIANAPOLIS (August 19, 2026) – Andretti Global, a racing team under the TWG Motorsports umbrella, announced today that Acura will serve as the primary partner for the No. 28 Honda entry piloted by Marcus Ericsson at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix on the streets of Washington, D.C.
The partnership marks another milestone in Acura’s expanding motorsports strategy as the premium performance brand celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026. Building on a legacy of success across sports car racing, Acura continues to expand its footprint in premier racing series, bringing its Precision Crafted Performance philosophy to one of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ newest and most anticipated events.
The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix, held in Washington, D.C., serves as a centerpiece of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, providing a national stage for one of motorsport’s fastest-growing series. The historic event brings together innovation, competition and American heritage, creating a fitting backdrop for Acura’s continued investment in top-level racing.
The partnership will extend beyond the race circuit with a fan-focused activation at Chevy Chase Acura during race week. Ericsson will make a special appearance alongside an Acura-branded show car on Thursday, August 20 from 3-5 p.m., bringing the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES directly to motorsports fans and Acura customers. Acura will also activate throughout the Freedom 250 Grand Prix race weekend.
The Freedom 250 Grand Prix takes place August 22-23 with live coverage on FOX.
