  • Andretti Formula E returned to Formula E’s most visited circuit of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as the Indianapolis squad took on Round 7 of Season 12 at Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit with the opening Free Practice 1 session yesterday. Returning to the venue where he scored his debut Formula E points last year, Felipe Drugovich finished ninth with teammate and Season 11 Berlin E-Prix podium finisher Jake Dennis in 10th.
  • Preparations continued this morning with Free Practice 2, which saw Drugovich continue to display pace around the German capital as he took the checkered in third. Dennis also secured another top-10 finish in the session, classifying seventh overall.
  • The Brazilian was able to progress into the Duels from Group A Qualifying, marking Andretti’s 45th appearance in the knockout stages. Unfortunately, teammate Dennis missed out on progressing.
  • The Andretti duo deployed a conservative energy strategy with a late Attack Mode activation following the PIT BOOST window. As Dennis was able to maximize efficiency during the opening stages of the E-Prix, the Brit was rewarded during the closing stages of the race when he could employ more energy than those around him and utilize his extra 50kWh of power to drive through the field and secure a top-five finish. Drugovich was also able to conserve energy, however struggled to deploy that surplus at the end of the race and took the checkered in 13th.
  • Dennis’ result marks Andretti Formula E’s 70th top-five finish and 20th Fastest Lap.
  • Heading into tomorrow’s E-Prix, the Andretti Formula E team remain seventh in the Teams’ World Championship standings with 58 points.

No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric

Qualifying

  • Dennis took to Group B and missed out on the Duels by 0.064 hundredths of a second, finishing seventh overall.

Race

  • Starting from 13th, the British driver used less energy per lap than any other driver on the grid to build up a reserve of energy that would strategically provide him with the freedom to push later in the race when others were forced to lift.
  • On Lap 21, Dennis took his PIT BOOST and was able to break into the top 10 once the grid had taken their mandatory charge.
  • Opting for a late Attack Mode strategy, Dennis was able to use his six minutes of additional 50kWh combined with his reserved energy from earlier in the E-Prix to advance from 13th to fifth.
  • The No. 27 driver also claimed the Fastest Lap of the race, with a
    58.897 on Lap 34.
  • Dennis’ 2026 Hankook Berlin E-Prix I result is his 39th top-five finish and 12th Fastest Lap.

“Super happy with that result to be honest. The fifth-place finish and Fastest Lap is definitely something positive we can take into tomorrow. We were able to execute the strategy very well in the race and there’s not much more we could have hoped for given our starting position.
We’ll carry this momentum into tomorrow and try go a few positions better to get onto the podium.”

Felipe Drugovich

No. 28 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric

Qualifying

  • Drugovich converted his morning’s practice session pace into a second place during Group A, resulting in his second Formula E Duel appearance.
  • Unfortunately, the No. 28 driver went deep in Turn 1 during his Quarterfinal Duel against Nissan’s Oliver Rowland.

Race

  • Taking a similar strategy to teammate Dennis, Drugovich drove efficiently during the early phase of the E-Prix and built a positive energy offset to those around him.
  • The Brazilian took an early PIT BOOST on Lap 20 to protect his track position and in doing so, was able to emerge one position better in 13th once the field had taken their stop.
  • Mirroring his teammate with a late Attack Mode on Lap 32, the No. 28 almost broke into the top 10, though was unable to do so, ultimately taking the checkered in 13th.

“Today was disappointing. The pace is definitely getting there and the confidence with the car is much better now, but there’s still some learning for the races. I’m struggling to understand how things play out they way they do with the inefficiency, so when we are able to learn what we can in that aspect, I’m confident the results will follow. We’ve shown some strong moments throughout the season so far and now it’s about putting everything together to get that result we deserve. We’re super motivated to go again tomorrow and we’ll be fighting for a good result.”

Roger Griffiths

Team Principal

“A race of mixed fortunes across the Andretti Formula E garage. A very good recovery from Jake having started 13th and then finishing fifth with the Fastest Lap. Those 11 points were super useful and ensured both Jake and the team didn’t drop any positions in the Championship standings.

It was a tough race for everybody with energy management and thermal temperatures, so we have a few things to analyze. Fortunately, Jake was able to maximize his strategy and navigate the race to secure that top five. On the other side of the garage, we’re starting to see more consistency in single-lap performance from Felipe, out qualifying Jake again, which is good for his confidence. During the race it seems that he was slightly down to Jake on energy management, but was able to recover it back. He was looking reasonably poised to make the top ten but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. There’s still positives for him to take from today and he has to remember that the majority of the grid has a tremendous amount of experience at this track.

Now our focus moves onto tomorrow. It was the second race of last year’s doubleheader Felipe got his first points in Formula E on his debut weekend, so let’s see if we can replicate that and leave Berlin with our heads held high.”
