- Andretti INDYCAR rolled off from 17th (Ericsson), 11th (Kirkwood), 19th (Power) in a race that had seven cautions along with both yellow and red flag conditions due to weather around the 2.5-mile oval.
- As the checkered flag waved, Marcus Ericsson led the Andretti INDYCAR effort in 13th, with Kyle Kirkwood finishing 16th and Will Power retiring early from the race in 29th.
- The Andretti INDYCAR and INDY NXT teams now head back to street course competition next weekend for the Detroit Grand Prix.

Will Power
No. 26 TWG AI Honda

P29
| Started | P19 |
| Standings | P17 (112 points) |
- Will Power made his 19th Indianapolis 500 start from 19th with hopes of capturing his second victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- Power and his Andretti teammates made their first pit stop of the day under yellow conditions on Lap 21 before the No. 26 TWG AI Honda worked its way through the field. The Australian driver climbed as high as seventh during the opening half of the race.
- After making his second pit stop of the race on Lap 62 and cycling back into mid-pack, Power experienced an engine issue that caused him to spin on pit exit on Lap 91. The yellow-causing incident ultimately forced him to retire early from the race.
“Not a great way to end an already tough month of May. We were running so strong, saving fuel and moving forward, and then it was just over. I heard a loud noise and then I just spun. We’re still working through exactly what happened, but it was just an unfortunate end to our day.”

Kyle Kirkwood
No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda

P16
| Started | P25 |
| Standings | P4 (195 points) |
- Taking the green flag from near the back of the field, Kirkwood struggled to find momentum at the start of the race, losing a few spots during the opening pit sequence.
- Kirkwood stayed persistent and continued to move up the field through the first half of the race, eventually running as high 11th by the halfway point of the race.
- Following the red flag period for inclement weather, Kirkwood capitalized on the restart to stay near the top 10 throughout the second half and closing stages.
- After making his penultimate pit stop on Lap 179, Kirkwood was shuffled back near the back of the field, and with the untimely caution periods in the final moments of the race, he was not able to break back into the top 10, ultimately finishing 16th.
“We methodically moved up in the race and were running pretty strong for the majority of it. That said, we made a gutsy decision based on the rainy forecast and we went on a strategy we thought would work best for that. Obviously, in the end, it didn’t work out for a few of us. So, I’m a little dejected and wish things could have played out differently for us today.”

Marcus Ericsson
No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda

P13
| Starting | P17 |
| Standings | P12 (129 points) |
- Leading the Andretti INDYCAR field to green as the team’s highest starter, 2022 Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson took the green from 17th for today’s 200-lap race.
- The No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda steadily worked its way toward the front throughout the opening half of the race as Ericsson gained positions through multiple pit cycles and broke into the top 10 by Lap 61.
- Following the red flag for weather shortly after the halfway point, Ericsson stayed near the front throughout the remainder of the race, climbing as high as P4 on Lap 177 before making his final pit stop two laps later.
- In the closing stages, Ericsson cycled back to 14th in the attempt to gain positions, ultimately crossed the line in 13th.
“It was a fun race. There were a lot of good battles out there and I felt like I was driving really well. The No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda was super fast as well. We were making our way up, like planned, to the top 10 and then the top five at one point, and were looking really strong. There were a few decisions that were made and some calls that we thought were right at the time, but things just didn’t really play out for us. I’m very disappointed to end up in 13th with all that hard work and a fast car, but this is how we worked out today.”

Ron Ruzewski
INDYCAR Team Principal

“Obviously, this is not the way you want to finish at this place. There’s only one winner, and we had a tough day on the No. 26 car with some with some issues that caused us to DNF. The other two guys were on a different strategy and just working their way forward all day today, but unfortunately, with the way it played out, their results weren’t representative of where they were. We’ll take away lessons from this, learn from them and come back better next year. Off to Detroit.”
