Andretti Formula E Heads to Berlin with Strong Momentum for Season 11’s Penultimate Race Weekend

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads to familiar territory this weekend, as Berlin is set to host Rounds 13 and 14 at the iconic Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit, the most-raced location in series history. As the only city to feature on the calendar every season since Formula E’s inception, the German capital is a cornerstone of the Championship, known for its wide, flowing layout and high tire degradation concrete surface that was originally designed for aircraft. Fresh from a pole position and fourth-place finish in Jakarta, the Andretti Formula E team arrives in Germany with confidence, determined to build on its strong record at Tempelhof, which includes a victory, two podiums, three fastest laps and 112 Championship points. Jake Dennis returns to the site of his Season 10 Berlin pole with renewed form, while teammate Nico Mueller arrives with strong momentum after his top-four finish in Jakarta and will be aiming to replicate his impressive front-row start from Season 9 at Tempelhof. With Championship points on the line and just one race weekend remaining, the stage is set for a pivotal penultimate doubleheader weekend in the German capital.

Notes
Berlin E-Prix
- The Berlin E-Prix is the most-raced location in Formula E history, with Rounds 13 and 14 of Season 11 marking the 11th visit to the German capital and the 21st and 22nd editions of the race there.
- Berlin retains its accolade of being the only city to be on the Formula E calendar since Season 1.
- Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport street circuit has been the location of two of Formula E’s three Grand Slams (pole position, fastest lap and victory), a rare feat in the series’ history. The only other achievement came courtesy of Andretti’s Dennis in Rome in Season 9.
Andretti Formula E
- Across the previous 20 races in Berlin, the Andretti Formula E team has scored a total of 112 points.
- Last time out in Berlin in Season 10, Andretti Formula E drivers Jake Dennis and Norman Nato claimed both fastest lap accolades during the doubleheader event.
- At the Season 6 Berlin E-Prix III, Maximilian Günther claimed victory at his home race in Germany for Andretti Formula E. Only two drivers, Jake Dennis being the other (London E-Prix I, Season 8), have claimed wins at their home race while racing for Andretti Formula E.
- The last time a Formula E race took place on July 13, Season 5’s New York City E-Prix II, Andretti Formula E drivers finished third (António Félix Da Costa) and fourth (Alexander Sims).
- Mueller’s third-place finish at the 2025 Sarinah Jakarta E-Prix marked the Andretti Formula E team’s 120th top-10 finish in the all-electric Series.
- After Dennis’ pole position, Andretti Formula E is the only team in Formula E to have taken the top spot in Qualifying in all of the last seven seasons of competition.
Jake Dennis
- Dennis has claimed three top-five finishes at the Berlin E-Prix (Season 7 – Round 14, Season 9 – Round 8 and Season 10 – Round 10).
- The British driver’s podium at Season 9’s Berlin E-Prix II was his 10th visit to the top three in his Formula E career. To date, Dennis has achieved 22 podiums.
- The No. 27 driver claimed pole position at the last race in the German capital – his most recent pole before claiming the top-qualifying spot last time out in Jakarta.
- Dennis’ qualifying result in Jakarta marked his 15th front-row start in Formula E and elevated him to third place in the all-time Duel win percentage rankings, with an impressive 60.34% conversion rate. He also retains his number one ranking in most Duel Final appearances of any driver, with 12 visits to the top two shootout.
Nico Mueller
- Mueller’s only front-row start came in Berlin after an impressive qualifying run at the Season 9 Berlin E-Prix II.
- The Swiss driver has had a different finishing position in each of his eight races at the German capital.
- Even though Season 11 is the No. 51 driver’s fifth season in Formula E, Mueller has only previously raced in Berlin twice (Season 6, Season 9). The Swiss driver was absent from last year’s Berlin doubleheader event due to World Endurance Championship commitments at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, with Kelvin van der Linde stepping in.
- After the 2025 Sarinah Jakarta E-Prix, Mueller maintained his lead in the ABB Engineered To Outrun Award leaderboard, having made up 10 places in the previous race, totaling 67 positions gained so far across Season 11.
- The Swiss driver’s fourth-place finish in Jakarta marked his eighth top-five finish in the all-electric Championship.
- After Envision Racing’s Sebastian Bumei’s penalty was successfully appealed post-race, Mueller was dropped back down to fourth, where he finished on track at the 2025 Sarinah Jakarta E-Prix.

Team Quotes
Jake Dennis
No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric
“We’re heading into Berlin confident as ever after a really good weekend in Jakarta in terms of performance. In terms of resetting the mind from the result, I’m generally experienced enough to know that there’s no point holding onto the bad days. It’s important to take the positives and run with them. There’s no point reminiscing on what could have been.
The car is behaving well in qualifying and race trim, which is probably the first time it’s felt like that since São Paulo in Round 1, so we can be happy with that. We performed well in Berlin last year with the pole position, so I would say it’s a track which I know relatively well and have the capability to perform well at. Berlin will be a good reset for us and an opportunity to score maximum points. The team and I will be heading into the doubleheader event full of optimism.”

Nico Mueller

“Obviously, Jakarta was a positive weekend for us on several fronts. It’s always great to finally be back on that podium and for the first time with Andretti. There have been plenty of other factors that have us leaving Jakarta feeling good, and it feels like we have some solid momentum on our side going into Berlin and London. We’ve made some changes for me to be able to extract the most out of the package, and I feel much more confident compared to the start of the season. Here’s hoping that we can translate that into good results in Berlin.
Our focus will be on delivering a strong qualifying, and I think we’re on a good positive trajectory for improving that. It’s clearly the goal to make sure we can start as far up the field as possible because it makes life much easier by staying out of trouble at the start. Then obviously, aim to be at the very sharp end when it comes to the last few meters of the race, crossing the finish line. It’s as close as it gets to a home race for me, so it would be fantastic to have a good pair of races there and score a haul of points for the team.”

Roger Griffiths
Team Principal

“Jakarta was an important step for the team, reacting well to challenging circumstances on the day, around the weather and track conditions, while being able to translate that into a pole position that showed the team has the strength to deliver when it counts. The race strategy also played out well, given the very different scenarios across the garage, and the team was able to effectively switch focus between drivers when things didn’t go to plan. It shows that our preparation and processes are working as expected and can only be a good sign for the remaining two doubleheader events.
With only four races remaining, two of those in Berlin this weekend, the team is looking to finish the season strong. Tempelhof presents a unique challenge with the track surface and what the means in terms of tire wear. Looking back to the Miami E-Prix there was a high degree of wear so hopefully our knowledge of how the tire reacts under these circumstances will be beneficial. The focus, as always, will be on maximizing each session and the results from it. Regardless of being the first race or the last race of the season, they all offer the same number of points and so the motivation to do well remains as high as always.”
