Andretti Formula E Aims to End Season 11 Strong at London Finale
7.23.25
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to the British capital for the Season 11 finale at the one-of-a-kind ExCeL London Circuit, the world’s first indoor-outdoor track. Building on the team’s podium finish in Berlin, Andretti Formula E heads into Rounds 15 and 16 determined to climb the final standings in a tight Team Championship fight. Hometown hero Jake Dennis returns to the site of his 2023 title triumph as the most successful driver in London, boasting five podiums, two wins and a record-setting 112 points scored on home soil. Teammate Nico Mueller has also enjoyed consistent form at this venue, having finished in the points every time he has seen the checkered flag in the capital. With 20 turns and a flow of lighting, surface and elevation changes, the short 2.007km circuit promises a dramatic conclusion to the season across the doubleheader weekend.
The London E-Prix takes place at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre in the Custom House area of Newham, East London, and has played host to Formula E’s British race since Season 7, housing the world’s first-ever indoor-outdoor circuit.
The ExCeL London Circuit is the shortest E-Prix track on the Season 11 calendar, totaling only 2.077km. The next closest track length is Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport Circuit, which measures 2.347km per lap.
The city of London hosted the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Season 1 and 2 at the Battersea Park Street Circuit before moving to the ExCeL London Circuit in Season 7.
The pair of upcoming races in London mark the 13th and 14th editions of the race in The Big Smoke, which has hosted the season finale doubleheader for the past two years.
In 2023, history was made at the ExCeL London when Andretti Formula E’s Jake Dennis was crowned the first World motorsport Champion on British soil in 38 years. The last time a World Champion of motorsport was crowned on UK soil was Alain Prost’s Championship win in 1985 at Brands Hatch during the European Grand Prix.
Andretti Formula E
The Andretti Formula E team has claimed two victories, two pole positions, six podium place finishes and 148 Championship points in London.
From 12 race starts in the English capital, the American outfit has claimed three fastest laps – tied for the most by any team
The Indianapolis-based squad also holds the joint-most record for the most podiums in London with six.
Jake Dennis
Jake Dennis claimed pole position for both London races in Season 8 and went on to win the opening race from lights to flag, one of three such victories in his Formula E career.
Dennis has seen plenty of success in London – the location where he claimed the Driver’s World Championship in Season 9 to become the first British World Champion in the all-electric series. It’s also the location of one of his two career grand slams, the most of any driver, when the Brit achieved pole position, fastest lap and the race victory in Season 8. Dennis’ other grand slam came from Season 9’s Rome E-Prix.
The British driver finished on the podium in four consecutive London races, from Season 8 to Season 9’s doubleheader editions of the E-Prix.
Dennis holds the record for the most fastest laps at the ExCeL London Circuit, with three, and is the only driver to have started on the front row four times in the capital.
With 112 Championship points scored on home soil, Dennis is the highest-scoring and most successful driver in Formula E history at the London E-Prix.
Should the No. 27 driver score five Championship points, Dennis will take his total career points tally to 650 in under 80 race starts
Nico Mueller
Every time that Nico Mueller has finished a race in London, the Swiss driver has taken the checkered flag in the points-paying positions.
The English capital marks the only city where Mueller has three top-eight finishes in Formula E.
The No. 51 driver holds a three-to-one head-to-head qualifying record against his teammates at the ExCeL London Circuit.
Should Mueller score five Championship points, the Swiss driver will take his total career points tally to 150.

“I always have a great feeling heading into the London doubleheader, especially with it being my home race. Formula E always puts on an incredible event, and the whole weekend is even more special when I’m able to get my family and friends there to support me. Coming off the back of a podium in Berlin gave the extra confidence that we needed not only for the team, but also for myself. So, I’m feeling extremely well prepared and positive for the weekend. We’ve had some great success in London over the years, from becoming World Champion in Season 9 to claiming pole positions and winning multiple races. For some reason, the ExCeL London Circuit just really clicks with my driving style. We usually have a strong race car underneath us as well, but there’s something about the layout that definitely plays into my strengths; it’s a combination of both. We’ll be aiming to continue our success coming into the final rounds of the season and hopefully get my first race win of the season.”
“For a few weekends now, we’ve certainly had a strong positive trend, so let’s hope we can just put everything together for a great finale. We’ll be aiming for a smooth weekend, to extract the maximum performance out of the package, and I’m sure we can have a great couple of races around the tight and twisty ExCel London Circuit. It’s a technical one that I enjoy driving, and it will be exciting to see how the GEN3 Evo performs on there. I think it will feel very fast, so I can’t wait to get out there. Having half the track indoors and the other outdoors adds a refreshing change to a race weekend, particularly with the unpredictability of the English weather. There’s been some resurfacing done, so that will be interesting to see how that pans out and if it changes things. It’s always a challenging one, but if you get the setup correct and feel confident in the car to push it to its limits, then it becomes a lot of fun to drive.”

“Being back on the podium for the team in Berlin was a huge accomplishment and something that we never take for granted with the competition being so high. I must also mention that we’ve been very pleased with the way the Berlin Rookie Test went with both Frederik and Jak. They both had a solid day of running, gathered lots of data to review and provided some good conclusions from the sessions. Having been able to tick off several items that had questions attached to them earlier in the year has been very pleasing. A big thank you to both drivers. As we finalize all of our preparations for London, expectations are always high with the great track record the Andretti Formula E team has there. However, we must remain focused and take the weekend one session at a time, maximizing everything we can. With points on offer across both Saturday and Sunday and the Team’s Standings so tight, the objective heading into the finale is clear; points finishes for both cars and to clinch fifth in the Team’s Standings – the best of the non-manufacturer teams.”
