SCOTT SPEED, NO. 41 BRIMTEK BEETLE

     – The three-time X Games Gold Medalist finished round seven of the Red Bull Global Rallycross in the seventh position.
     – After an announcement made earlier this week, the five-time Global Rallycross race winner will continue to pilot the No. 41 Volkswagen GRC Beetle throughout the next two seasons.

“We put in some good, consistent laps during yesterday’s practice sessions and heat, but today just wasn’t in our favor. Bad luck built on top of bad luck, but a lot of the issues today stemmed from things we couldn’t control. On a positive note, I loved having a ton of Volkswagen guests here this weekend, just wish I would have been able to put it on the podium for them. We definitely have more speed then what was shown this weekend, so I can’t wait to unleash it in L.A.”

TANNER FOUST, NO. 34 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK BEETLE

     – Foust came to the checkered flag of the Volkswagen sponsored event in the fifth position.
     – The 42-year-old made contact with another competitor during the early morning Heat rounds, ultimately resulting in a DNF in Heat 2A.

“Fundamentally it was a pretty challenging weekend for the Volkswagen Andretti team in D.C. With Volkswagen sponsoring the event we had a lot of extracurricular activities going on that were incredibly fun. We had the chance to meet a lot of the Volkswagen staff and executives, so it made for a very enjoyable weekend. We ended up chasing down an issue with the Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle that left us really inconsistent for the weekend. Ultimately in the final, the issue crept back up on us and I just couldn’t keep up the pace. A bit disappointed with the results, but we’re ready to get some more testing in and see what we can put out in Los Angeles.”
