Qualifying Notes
- Following persistent rainy conditions on Saturday, all qualifying sessions for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 shifted to Sunday, with the entire field of 33 being determined in a single day.
- All three Andretti Global drivers wrapped up their qualifying runs in the first session this afternoon, with Marcus Ericsson set to lead the charge for the team on race day from the outside of the sixth row.
- The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will be back on track tomorrow for practice at 1 PM ET, with live coverage available on FS1 and FOX One.

Will Power
No. 26 TWG AI Honda

P20
| 4-Lap Average | 230.279 MPH |
- Will Power was the first Andretti driver, and 10th overall, to attempt to lock in their starting spot for the race. While it was a clean run for the No. 26 TWG AI crew, he was unable to advance into the Top 12 qualifying session and will start the race in the seventh row, just behind teammate Ericsson.
“That was a good run for us. We were expecting to be well into the 20s, so we were okay with where we landed. We thought the warmer conditions would help us because we had really good downforce, which it did. Obviously wish we were starting a bit higher, but we’re confident with our race cars and i’m looking forward to getting back on track in tomorrow’s practice.”

Kyle Kirkwood
No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda

P26
| 4-Lap Average | 229.607 MPH |
- Making his attempt last out of the Andretti trio today, Kyle Kirkwood struggled to put down a four-lap average that would move him up the leaderboard, ultimately ending the day near the back of the field. He will start from the ninth row on the grid for the race.
“The No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda feels really good, so there’s not a whole lot that we can do. We were right at the top of the charts in no-tow and race trim. I was very confident in race trim, especially starting pretty far back here. We know we’ll be able to move forward, and that’s exactly what we expect to do during the race.”

Marcus Ericsson
No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda

P18
| 4-Lap Average | 230.667 MPH |
- Marcus Ericsson was the 13th driver overall to make a qualifying attempt this afternoon. While he remained in the Top 12 for the majority of the session, Ericsson was eventually bumped outside of that threshold, locking in his spot on the outside of the sixth row for next Sunday’s race.
“It was quite a tough qualifying weekend for us. We already felt on Friday when we put the boost up that we were missing something as a team, which was disappointing. But I feel like the No. 28 group still made some good progress. With the cancellation yesterday, it made things even more tricky because we couldn’t do multiple attempts in qualifying, which would have been nice. The attempt we did today, I think we had some good speed in the car. The No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda was definitely speedy, but it was a little too much to handle. So, it was a disappointing result, but I still feel very hopeful for next weekend.”

Ron Ruzewski
INDYCAR Team Principal

“Overall, not the result we were looking for, but not a terrible result with the cars solidly in the field. We feel confident in our race cars, and we’ll continue to work on them with the next opportunities we have on tomorrow and Carb Day. Good job by everybody executing today and getting the most out of the tricky conditions. The field is pretty mixed up, so now we move on to the big show.”
