Race 1 Notes
- INDYCAR returned to the Snap-on INDYCAR Weekend at The Milwaukee Mile tonight to complete Race 1 of the doubleheader after rain suspended the race yesterday afternoon
- Following the completion of Race 2 earlier today, the field returned to pit lane to resume the remaining 159 laps of the Snap-on Makers and Fixers 250.
- Ericsson led the way for Andretti INDYCAR with an eighth-place finish, while Kyle Kirkwood took the checkered in 14th. Will Power’s race came to an early end following contact on Lap 200.
- Tonight’s conclusion of Race 1 saw four caution periods for a total of 70 laps.
- The five-week stretch continues next weekend as the INDYCAR heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2026 season finale.
Race 2 Notes
- After rain postponed Race 1 yesterday and again this morning, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES shifted to Race 2 to kick off race action this afternoon with the Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250.
- Yesterday, the field of 25 qualified one-by-one for both races, with their second flying lap setting the grid for Race 2 at The Milwaukee Mile.
- Will Power secured fifth on the grid for Andretti in Race 2 qualifying, while teammates Marcus Ericsson and Kyle Kirkwood qualified 13th and 24th, respectively.
- In Race 2, Kirkwood led the way for the team with a sixth-place finish, while Ericsson and Power took the checkered in ninth and 14th.
- With today’s results, Honda secured the INDYCAR Manufacturers’ Championship.
- The Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250 saw three caution periods lasting a total of 37 laps.
- The turnaround was tight, with drivers having just two and a half hours before returning to the track to resume Race 1.

- RACE 1
- Taking the green from sixth, Will Power moved into the top five early in Race 1 at The Milwaukee Mile.
- Power ran inside the top five for a majority of the opening stint and cycled to the lead before making his first pit stop on Lap 54.
- Following the stop, the No. 26 worked his way back to sixth before the red flag flew on Lap 91, postponing the race.
- Lining up eighth when racing resumed today, Power quickly returned to the top five and ran as high as second before making his second stop on Lap 121.
- The Australian continued to run toward the front through the second half of the race, settling into fourth as the field approached the final 50 laps.
- While battling for position on Lap 200, Power was sent into the Turn 4 wall following contact from the No. 6 of Nolan Siegel, bringing out the yellow and ultimately ending his race.
- RACE 2
- Power took the green from fifth and remained inside the top 10 through the opening stint before making his first stop under yellow on Lap 38.
- The Australian worked his way back toward the front following the first round of stops, moving into second before the race’s second yellow on Lap 142.
- The No. 26 took over the lead after the restart and held the top spot through Lap 194 before making his final stop.
- Power received a drive-through penalty for a pit lane speed violation on his final stop, dropping the No. 26 TWG AI Honda down the order before taking the checkered in 14th.
“It was a frustrating day because I thought we had really good cars in both races. In Race 2, we led some laps and were in a good position until the penalty on the final stop. Race 1 was similar. We worked our way toward the front and were running good before the contact ended our day. Definitely disappointing not to come away with the results we should have, but the pace was there all weekend. We’ll move on to Laguna and try to finish the season strong.”

- RACE 1
- Kyle Kirkwood took the green from 22nd yesterday afternoon for Race 1 of the doubleheader weekend.
- The No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda moved up a few positions early and made its first stop on Lap 45 before breaking into the top 10 by Lap 57.
- Running seventh just behind teammate Power, the Florida driver held the position until the red flag flew on Lap 91, postponing the remainder of Race 1 to tonight.
- Lining up 10th when racing resumed, Kirkwood quickly moved back to eighth by Lap 115.
- Called to pit just before the yellow came out on Lap 151, Kirkwood was caught in pit lane and fell a lap down before taking the wave-around to return to the lead lap.
- Back on the lead lap, the No. 27 lined up 16th for the restart and worked his way back into the top 10 by Lap 193.
- Kirkwood continued to battle through the closing stages, running 15th with less than 10 laps remaining.
- The No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda took the checkered in 15th, with Kirkwood holding third in the championship standings as Alex Palou clinched the 2026 title.
- RACE 2
- Following overnight repairs by the No. 27 Sam’s Club crew after sustaining damage in Friday’s practice session, Kirkwood was back in action this weekend before taking the green for Race 2 today from 24th.
- Kirkwood moved up five positions on the opening lap and continued working his way forward, reaching 14th before making his first stop under yellow on Lap 39.
- After the restart, Kirkwood broke into the top 10 by Lap 48 before working his way up to second ahead of the next round of pit stops.
- The No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda returned to the top three after the next round of stops before settling back inside the top 10 heading into the final stint.
- Kirkwood ultimately took the checkered in sixth, gaining 18 positions to earn Jostens Biggest Mover of the Race.
“We ended Race 2 in P6 earlier today, which is really good from P24. Then in Race 1, we obviously weren’t as high up there, but the Sam’s Club Honda was good. I had to jump some hurdles in both races to get ourselves towards the front. Ultimately, Race 1 didn’t pay off for us, but Race 2 was a good show of what we can do here.”

- RACE 1
- Marcus Ericsson took the green from 14th yesterday afternoon and maintained his position through the opening portion of Race 1 before making his first stop on Lap 50.
- Following the stop, Ericsson began working his way up and was running 11th when the red flag flew on Lap 91, postponing the remainder of the race to tonight.
- Lining up 11th when racing resumed, the No. 28 moved into the top 10 before making his next stop on Lap 120.
- Ericsson continued to make progress through the second half of the race, moving as high as seventh as the final stint approached.
- After making his final stop on Lap 191, the Swede worked his way back into the top 10 and took the checkered in eighth.
- RACE 2
- Ericsson took the green for Race 2 from 13th and settled into the middle of the pack through the opening stint.
- When the first yellow came out on Lap 38, Ericsson made his first stop of the day under caution before restarting in 16th.
- The No. 28 InPwr Honda continued moving forward through the middle portion of the race, moving back toward the top 10 before reaching 11th by Lap 178.
- Ericsson made his final stop on Lap 192 before working his way back into the top 10 for the closing stretch.
- The Swede ultimately took the checkered in ninth, marking his 20th career top-10 finish on an oval.
“It was a busy, long day for everyone. I think we did a good job on the 28 InPwr Honda all day. Race 2 this morning was a tough race. We didn’t really get the balance right, so it was just a bit of a struggle. But the team did a really good job with the pit stops and strategy and we got home with a top-10 result, which was really strong because I felt like the car wasn’t really in the window. Then, for the continuation of Race 1 here this evening, we made some really good changes to the setup, which put the car in the window. So that was a lot of fun to drive; I made a lot of passes. I think we were on for a top five or even a podium there at one point, but then we had a bad restart where I sort of got hit and almost spun out. I sort of managed to save that, but lost a few spots. So I tried to recover from there and fight back. Again, the car was really, really good to drive in that evening race. I think that says a lot about the 28 crew and how we can work to improve and then come out stronger. So we ended the day with two top-10 results, but we always want more than that. It was still a very solid weekend here in Milwaukee, and we’ll push on to Laguna next week.”

“It was an interesting weekend with the weather delays and all the challenges that were thrown at us. Unfortunately, it’s not the weekend we were hoping for. We showed speed in our cars and had a ton of potential, but weren’t able to bring home the results we were looking for. We’ll rebound from this and hopefully have a great result at Laguna Seca for the season finale.”
