| Top Speed | 221.455 MPH |
“It was honestly quite a short first day. We just did some qualifying work and then some race work at the very end. We’ll take what we learned into tomorrow.”

Kyle Kirkwood
No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda

P7
| Top Speed | 224.483 MPH |
“It was a good day. We got through all the items that we wanted to get through. The No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda was fast in no-tow and in race trim, so there’s no better way to start the Month of May than how we did today.”

Marcus Ericsson
No. 28 Phoenix Investors Honda

P23
| Top Speed | 222.304 MPH |
“There was not a lot of running on Opening Day for the No. 28. We had a couple things we had to sort through. But we still got some interesting stuff that we were able to check off. So, we’re going to dig into that this evening and hopefully have a more productive day with more running tomorrow.”

Ron Ruzewski
INDYCAR Team Principal

“Good first day today. We’re working through our plans together as a team and just checking off all the boxes. Overall, I would say we’re on schedule, and we just keep chipping away at what we need to do to get ready for qualifying.”
