Andretti Heads to the Lone Star State for Inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington

Andretti Global’s INDYCAR and INDY NXT drivers take on a brand-new challenge this weekend as teams make their debut on the Streets of Arlington. The 2.73-mile track layout will feature two iconic sporting venues recognized by fans around the world: AT&T Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys, and Globe Life Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers. The new layout will weave through Arlington’s core sports and entertainment district and will include a split pit lane and a technical horseshoe section next to AT&T Stadium.
Andretti INDYCAR comes into Arlington after a strong weekend in Phoenix with Kyle Kirkwood on the second step of the podium. INDY NXT returns to competition after a week away following the season opener in St. Petersburg that saw Max Taylor secure the pole and all Andretti INDY NXT drivers finish in the top 10.

“I’ve been looking forward to Arlington since they announced the race. It’s always exciting to go to a new street circuit because it’s the first time drivers will take on the track, and everyone is learning it together. From everything we’ve seen, it looks like it’s going to be a great venue and a massive event for INDYCAR. I also have family coming out since my wife’s family is from the area, so it should make the weekend even more special.”

“I’m really excited for Arlington. The podium finish in Phoenix was a great result for the team, and we’ve been phenomenal on street courses in recent years. Arlington seems like a track that should suit us very well. Texas is a great market for INDYCAR, and I had the chance to race in the area at Texas Motor Speedway three years ago. It will be great to be back in the Dallas-Fort Worth area at a new venue. I’ve got a lot of family out there, and it will be nice having a race where they can come out and watch.”

“Arlington is another new track on the calendar, and it looks like a really cool circuit. It will be great to go back to Texas, and the layout looks very challenging. I think it’s going to suit us at Andretti really well. We like street courses here, so this new challenge will be really fun to tackle. I can’t wait to get there and have a great weekend.”

Ron Ruzewski
Team Principal

“We’re looking forward to heading to Arlington for another new event in 2026, and this one should be quite exciting. Any time there is a new street course circuit, it pulls on the team to really execute. The team is preparing to make sure we’re in a position to react to any challenges that may come up during Friday’s first practice session so we can be best positioned for qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday. Also new this weekend, INDYCAR is rolling out a new qualifying procedure for the Firestone Fast Six, and we’d really like to be part of that first time experience. There is only one inaugural event, and we’d love to put Andretti in the books as the team that won it.”

“I started the year off really strong in St. Pete and got some good points to kick off the season. We were really fast all weekend and led every session, so we’re going to be looking to carry that momentum into Arlington. With this being a new track, it’s an exciting challenge with a lot of opportunities for us to show what we’ve learned up to now. I think by working together with Andretti Global, we’re going to show that we have great pace in the car again. I have no doubt about that. We’re all working hard as a team, and we’re ready for the next one.”

Josh Pierson

“I’m really looking forward to getting on track in Arlington after a solid start to the season in St. Pete. While I wanted to achieve more right from the jump, St. Pete was a great base to build on, and I know the pace is in the car thanks to the awesome crew at Andretti Global. I’m ready to tackle a new street course and prepared to keep working to get the most out of every weekend.”

Don Lambert

“The St. Pete race weekend showed the depth and strength of our INDY NXT program. We had all four cars at the top of the charts all weekend. We still need to work on our execution, but our momentum is strong right now, and all our Andretti Global drivers will surely be fighting for a win in Arlington.”
