INDIANAPOLIS (October 21, 2025) – Andretti Global, a racing team under the TWG Motorsports umbrella, announced today that Spanish driver Nerea Martí will represent the Andretti Formula E team at the women’s rookie test during Season 12’s official pre-season test in Valencia, Spain. Martí will take to the track in the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric on Friday, October 31, at Circuit Ricardo Tormo as part of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s continued initiative to create more opportunities for women in motorsport and increase female representation as the series enters the GEN4 era in late 2026.

Martí’s participation in the test at her local racetrack marks her return to the Indianapolis-based squad after impressing at last year’s all-women’s rookie test, where she gained valuable mileage in Formula E’s GEN3 Evo all-electric machinery. This season, the Valencian native receives the team’s full support, with Andretti dedicating all available resources to maximize her development and opportunity across the extended test program.

Martí has quickly built a strong reputation in motorsport as a race winner and multiple podium finisher in F1 Academy. The 22-year-old also achieved success in the W Series where she was the highest-ranked rookie in 2021 and was subsequently selected to test in FIA Formula 3 the same year. Most recently, Martí finished fourth overall in the 2024 F1 Academy season with Campos Racing and was chosen as one of four elite drivers for the inaugural BMW M Racing Academy Program.

Andretti Global has a long history of championing female talent across its racing programs, underscoring a genuine commitment to diversity in motorsport. This includes giving opportunities to drivers such as Chloe Chambers, Simona de Silvestro, Danica Patrick, Catie Munnings, Jamie Chadwick, Ana Beatriz, Ashton Harrison and Beitske Visser.

As part of the TWG Motorsports family, Andretti Formula E continues this tradition through a platform rooted in innovation and sustainability. Competing in the all-electric championship, the team embodies TWG’s shared vision for progress, where technology, inclusivity and performance intersect to shape the future of racing. Martí’s inclusion in the Valencia test extends this legacy and reinforces Andretti Global’s ongoing commitment to a more inclusive and forward-thinking sport.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship first introduced mandatory women’s rookie tests in Season 11 to create meaningful pathways for women to progress into the series. For 2025 the program expands to include additional track time, providing drivers like Martí with more opportunity to experience the GEN3 Evo and showcase their skills.

NEREA MARTÍ, ROOKIE TEST DRIVER, ANDRETTI FORMULA E:

“I’m very grateful to Andretti Global for giving me this opportunity for the second year in a row. It’s an honor to be part of such a historic racing organization and Championship-winning team. Getting back in a Formula E car is always special but doing it at home in Valencia makes it even more meaningful. After a long time without driving a single-seater, I’m exceptionally motivated and eager to get back on track. The experience in Madrid last year was very positive and allowed me to learn a lot – now I want to make the most of every lap to continue showing my potential and take another step forward in my career.

“These tests are essential, as they provide women with the opportunity to demonstrate our potential and ability to compete on the Formula E grid – a Championship that continues to grow through its strong commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion.”

ROGER GRIFFITHS, TEAM PRINCIPAL, ANDRETTI FORMULA E:

“We’re very happy to welcome Nerea back to the Andretti Formula E team for another opportunity in the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric. Last time out in Jarama, Nerea acquitted herself very well and we expect her to build upon that past experience, especially at a track she knows well in her hometown of Valencia. Andretti Global has a proud history of supporting women drivers across multiple series and supporting the upcoming dedicated women’s test day underscores our genuine commitment to promoting diversity and equality in motorsport.”
