RACE REPORT: 2025 Marvel Fantastic Four London E-Prix II

7.27.25

  • Andretti Formula E took to the track for the final time in Season 11 today at the London ExCeL, competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship finale and marking the Indianapolis-based team’s 148th race in the all-electric series.
  • The Andretti duo of Nico Mueller and Jake Dennis both took part in a red-flag-impacted Group A of Qualifying and were unable to progress into the Duels shootout for pole position, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
  • Mueller opted for an early Attack Mode strategy during the race, using both of his extra 50 kWh activations by Lap 12 to elevate himself up into fourth. However, while fighting for third with Nissan Formula E team’s Oliver Rowland, the No. 51 driver was tagged from behind, immediately ending his race.
  • Meanwhile, Dennis decided to delay his Attack Modes and benefited from an early Full Course Yellow, rising to eighth. However, on Lap 14, an unfortunately-timed Safety Car compromised Dennis’ Attack Mode, though the No. 27 driver was able to use his speed around the London ExCeL street circuit to remain in the fight for the podium in the closing stages of the race. Dennis ultimately took the checkered in fifth, but a five-second time penalty ahead elevated him to fourth.
  • The 2025 Marvel Fantastic Four London E-Prix II saw one Full Course Yellow and Safety Car period, resulting in two added laps to the race.
  • Dennis’ fourth-place finish marks the Andretti Formula E team’s 64th top-five and 124th top-ten finish in the all-electric series.
  • The Indianapolis-based squad wraps up Formula E’s Season 11 in seventh with 141 points.

Jake Dennis

No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric

Qualifying

  • Dennis was close to progressing into the Duels at the halfway mark of the session, sitting sixth overall. However, as he took the checkered, the Brit fell to eighth.

Race

  • Opting for a later Attack Mode strategy, Dennis benefited from an early Full Course Yellow caused by a collision between NEOM McLaren’s Taylor Barnard and Nissan Formula E team’s Norman Nato, making his way to eighth while cars around him took their first Attack Mode.
  • Unfortunately, a Lap 16 Safety Car, triggered by Nissan Formula E’s Oliver Rowland and Nico Mueller, compromised Dennis’ first Attack Mode. Despite the setback, the No. 27 fought back into the top five and used his final Attack Mode to cross the line in fifth. He was later promoted to fourth in the final classification following a five-second penalty for a competitor ahead.
  • Dennis’ fourth-place finish takes him over 650 Formula E career points and marks the British driver’s 36th top-five and 50th top-ten finish in the all-electric series.

“It was a tough race to manage with all the interruptions, but I’m really happy to bring home fourth in front of my home fans. Starting 15th, we knew we had to execute a smart strategy. The Full Course Yellow came at the right time for us, but the Safety Car later compromised our first Attack Mode. Still, we showed strong pace and managed to fight back. It’s a solid way to end the season, and I’m proud of how we managed to finish the season. Massive thanks to everyone in the team. It’s not been the easiest of seasons but I know how hard everyone is working to bounce back stronger in Season 12.”

Nico Mueller

No. 51 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric

Qualifying

  • Mueller was on the verge of making it to the Duels during the session, sitting less than five hundredths of a second off the top-four in fifth. As the checkered fell, Mueller’s time was bettered and the Swiss driver dropped to seventh.

Race

  • Mueller’s early Attack mode strategy allowed the Swiss driver to make his way to the front of the field from his starting position of 14th. Gaining 10 places in 15 laps, Mueller fought for third place with Nissan Formula E team’s Oliver Rowland; however, contact from the Season 11 World Champion at Turn 2 took Mueller out of contention.

“It’s a frustrating way to end the season, especially after such a strong start to the race. We had a great strategy and managed to get up to fourth from 14th in just over 10 laps. I felt confident and was fighting for a podium when the contact ended our race.”

Roger Griffiths

Team Principal

“Today was a mix of highs and lows. Jake delivered a fantastic drive from 15th on the grid to fourth, showing once again his consistency and racecraft under pressure. Nico had an excellent opening stint and looked on course for a top result before contact resulted in his retirement from the race. As a team, we’ve had some strong moments this season and to finish up the season with a top-four finish is something to be proud of. We’ll take the learnings from Season 11 and come back even stronger next year.”
