Andretti Formula E Returns to Jakarta for Final Stop on Season 11 Asia Stretch

After a year hiatus, the Jakarta E-Prix will return to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship calendar this weekend, and with it, Andretti Formula E heads back to one of the most challenging and demanding venues of the season. Set against the scenic backdrop of Ancol Beach, the 2.37 km Jakarta International E-Prix circuit blends high-speed stretches with a tight, technical layout that brings to life the spirit of the traditional Javanese ‘Kuda Lumping’ dance. Known for sweltering heat and a fiercely demanding surface, Jakarta pushes both teams and drivers to the limit. Andretti arrives back in the Indonesian capital with strong memories, highlighted by Jake Dennis’ back-to-back podiums in 2023, and with Season 11 nearing its end, the Andretti Formula E team heads into Round 12 focused on moving up another step on the Jakarta E-Prix podium.

- Last time out in the Indonesian capital, David Beckmann made his Formula E debut with Andretti, stepping in for André Lotterer, who missed the Season 9 races due to 24 Hours of Le Mans’ duties with Porsche.
- After scoring eight points at the 2025 Shanghai E-Prix II, the Andretti Formula E team has now scored the same number of points (1,316) as the two-time Teams’ Championship and three-time Drivers’ Championship-winning Formula E team DS Techeetah did throughout their dominant run in Formula E from Seasons 4-8.

Team Quotes
Jake Dennis
No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric
“You can always take away key learnings after a race weekend like Shanghai. Obviously, it wasn’t what we wanted after a decent qualifying, but we’ll work on our weaknesses and try and do better at the next race. Jakarta is a track I’ve generally scored well at in the past, with two podiums and a fastest lap there. Hopefully, we can continue our success in Indonesia. It’s a track I enjoy driving, but one of the most physically demanding for us drivers with the heat and humidity. Either way, I’m excited to get going and score some good points.”

Nico Mueller

“I think Jakarta will be an exciting one. After having a decent weekend in Shanghai with positive trends in qualifying and being able to race our way into a good point-scoring position, we’ll take that confidence into Round 12. The goal is to make sure we keep that momentum moving in the right direction and end the Asian tripleheader on a high. Having a solid qualifying and keeping the positive trend up will be important for race day in Jakarta, so that’s the aim.
It’s definitely one of the hardest races of the year – the humidity combined with the heat is something else. Wearing all the fireproofs and a helmet only adds to the extreme temperatures. Nevertheless, we’ve prepared well for it, not only with our time between races, but it’s on the back of your mind during all the preseason preparation. I’m looking forward to the challenge – bring it on!”

Roger Griffiths
Team Principal

“Finishing out our Shanghai E-Prix weekend with Nico’s sixth-place finish was a good confidence boost for him. He drove a smart race and followed the plan. Executing a plan in this manner and seeing it deliver a result demonstrates good correlation between how we as a team believe the result will play out versus how it actually does. While the results on the other side of the garage for Jake were obviously disappointing, even weekends like Shanghai can teach us something. We’ll take what we learned from that experience and take it into the final stretch of Season 11.
With only five races remaining, it’s vitally important that we maximize the potential from each upcoming weekend – that means scoring points, ideally with both cars. The team has performed well in Jakarta in the past, with back-to-back second-place podiums for Jake, coupled with two front-row starting places, so it would certainly be nice to go one step further on the podium this time out. Though we know that every team has come on a long way since our title-winning season and therefore, we will have to deliver our A(ndretti)-game to achieve this!”
