Siemens to Serve as Primary Partner for Marcus Ericsson at the Detroit Grand Prix

INDIANAPOLIS (May 30, 2025) – Andretti Global, a racing team under the TWG Motorsports umbrella, announced today that longtime partner Siemens, a global technology powerhouse, will serve as the primary partner for the No. 28 Siemens Honda piloted by Marcus Ericsson at the Detroit Grand Prix.
As primary sponsor, the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software is fully integrated into Andretti Global’s racing operations. By deploying NX™ X software for product engineering and Teamcenter® X software for product lifecycle management (PLM), Andretti Global gains access to industry-leading design, simulation, and PLM tools – all enabled through the cloud for maximum agility and collaboration.
This transformation is made possible through Siemens’ integration of Microsoft Azure, which provides the secure, scalable infrastructure needed to support real-time design iterations and global team collaboration. Specifically, the integration of Azure OpenAI and Microsoft 365 Copilot further enhances Siemens’ software with AI-powered capabilities, enabling engineers to explore design alternatives, automate tasks and accelerate decision-making.
Andretti Global’s engineering teams now operate with unprecedented flexibility. Whether at headquarters or on track, they can instantly access and modify designs, simulate performance, and implement changes in real time – capabilities that are critical during race weekends when milliseconds matter.
The AI-enhanced design environment allows Andretti Global engineers to interact with software using natural language, streamlining workflows and reducing the time from concept to implementation. This is especially valuable in motorsport, where rapid development cycles and constant performance optimization are essential.
Siemens’ long-standing commitment to innovation and digitalization is exemplified in its work with Andretti Global. The integration of Siemens’ industrial software expertise with Microsoft Azure technologies delivers a powerful platform for continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
This collaboration also supports sustainable development goals by reducing the need for physical prototypes and enabling more efficient resource use through advanced simulation and testing.
Siemens is the team’s longest-standing partner, serving as its official software technology partner since 1997. Live coverage of the Detroit Grand Prix will air on FOX on Sunday, June 1.

“Siemens stepping up as the primary partner in Detroit – across not just one, but two of our cars – speaks volumes about the strength and longevity of our partnership. We’re also proud to welcome a world-class brand like Microsoft to the team, especially as technology continues to reshape the future of motorsports. The days ahead in Detroit mark an exciting moment for Siemens, from their collaboration with us at Andretti Global to their Realize LIVE conference following the race weekend. We’re looking forward to seeing this dynamic convergence of innovation, competition and industry leadership come to life.”
MARCUS ERICSSON, DRIVER OF THE NO. 28 SIEMENS HONDA, ANDRETTI GLOBAL
“I’m looking forward to having Siemens on board with me in Detroit. They’ve been a longtime partner and it’s great that both Kyle and I can represent the Siemens brand this weekend. I have a lot of special memories in Detroit. It’s the place where I got my maiden INDYCAR podium, my first win and I had a second-place finish there last year. I’m excited to get back and fight for the win in the No. 28 Siemens Honda.”
