Louis Foster and Andretti INDY NXT Win 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone Series Championship
In what has been one of the more dominating performances in INDY NXT by Firestone Series’ history, Louis Foster and Andretti INDY NXT secured the 2024 INDY NXT Championship title at the Milwaukee Mile one race before the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway. Claiming the team’s sixth INDY NXT Championship, Louis Foster drove his way to the title claiming eight wins and six poles throughout the 14-race season.
“Louis has just been unstoppable this season and it’s been a lot of fun to watch him dominate weekend after weekend,” said Michael Andretti, Chairman & CEO of Andretti Global. “Our INDY NXT program is so strong, I think we’re on a 20-race podium streak over the last two seasons, and I’m proud of what that group has been able to accomplish this season across the board. I’m looking forward to seeing that sixth INDY NXT by Firestone Series Championship banner hanging in our shop soon.”
Taking the top American open-wheel ladder system by storm in 2022, Foster clinched the USF Pro 2000 Championship title with two races remaining in his rookie season before joining Andretti INDY NXT for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In his 28 starts over the last two seasons, the Brit has scored 10 wins, including eight in 2024, 10 poles and 18 trips to the podium. After a weekend sweep at the 2024 season finale at Nashville Superspeedway, Foster is currently tied for second for all-time wins (10) and tied for third for all-time poles (10) in the INDY NXT by Firestone Series’ record books.
“I’m super happy with winning the Championship this year,” said Louis Foster, Andretti INDY NXT driver and reigning 2024 INDY NXT Champion. “The season didn’t start out the way we wanted, but we worked really hard throughout the year and the Andretti INDY NXT team has consistently given me an amazing car pretty much everywhere. We were able to scrape in the points and get it done a race before the finale. Now we can celebrate the win!”
Andretti INDY NXT has won Championship titles in each of the Road to Indy development ladder series, having now earned six Championships in the INDY NXT by Firestone Series, one in the USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire (formerly Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires) and one in the USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire (formerly Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship). With 89 wins and six Championships, Andretti INDY NXT is currently Andretti Global’s most-winning series the team competes in.
