Tell us about yourself – where are you from, what do you do?
My name is Elamine, and I come from the stunning Comoros Islands located in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of East Africa. However, my artistic journey has led me to the picturesque South of France where I currently reside as a graphic designer and illustrator. In my craft, I try to infuse both aesthetic charm and profound meaning into every visual creation, sculpting narratives from raw ideas.
What do you enjoy about being a graphic designer?
What I enjoy about being a graphic designer is the vast number of opportunities it presents. Each project is a fresh canvas which I can paint my unique artistic vision. I find immense fulfillment in the process of transforming abstract concepts into tangible, impactful visuals that resonate with audiences.
We chose you and your work to represent Monaco – what does it mean to reside in the South of France?
When it comes to residing in the South of France, it’s as if I live in a canvas painted by nature’s brush. Here, the landscape is an artist’s dream, with sky-blue coastlines stretching into the horizon and majestic mountains framing the scenery. Moreover, the South of France radiates an aura of sophistication and luxury, represented by its lavish architecture, high-end boutiques and refined lifestyle. It’s a region where culture, creativity and natural beauty intertwine harmoniously, offering endless inspiration for my artistic endeavors.
Do you like motorsport? What does it mean to work with the Andretti team?
My love for motorsport runs deep, especially my admiration for sports cars. Collaborating with the prestigious Andretti team is nothing short of a dream come true. Not only does it allow me to merge my passion for design with my love for motorsport, but it also underscores Andretti’s commitment to fostering local creativity. Through our collaboration, we aim to elevate the visual identity of Formula E races, providing a platform for artists to shine on a global stage.
What was your design process for this poster?
As for the design process behind the poster, it was a detailed journey of exploration and creativity. I immersed myself in the philosophy of the Andretti brand and the exhilarating atmosphere of the Monaco Formula E race, analyzing their essence to transform it into visual form. From initial sketches to digital renderings, each step was filled with intention and passion, culminating in a design that embodies the energy and glamour of racing in Monaco.
Talk to us about the poster design – why did you include those colors and elements?
The poster design was carefully crafted to capture the essence of Monaco and the adrenaline-fueled world of motorsport. The warm hues evoke the Mediterranean sun, casting a golden glow over the iconic landmarks of Monte-Carlo. Elements such as the Monte-Carlo Casino and the rugged silhouette of the Niçois hinterland serve as anchors, grounding the design in the rich tapestry of the region’s identity. Meanwhile the dynamic patterns and tones convey the speed and energy of Formula E racing, drawing viewers into the heart of the action.
For Andretti Formula E fans visiting Monaco and the South of France for this race, what places should they visit and what food should they eat?
For Andretti Formula E fans traveling to the iconic Monaco and the South of France, there’s an abundance of experiences waiting to be discovered. From the magnificent halls of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco to the sun-kissed shores of the Promenade des Anglais, every corner reveals a new facet of the region’s charm. When it comes to culinary delights, indulging in local delicacies is a must. Savor the crispy goodness of socca, a savory chickpea pancake, or try a classic pan bagnat bursting with fresh Mediterranean flavors.
