UNITED FIBER & DATA TO DRESS THE NO. 26 FOR RACE OF THE CENTURY
INDIANAPOLIS (May 16, 2016) – The multi-platinum rock band LIVE is accustomed to making history, but on May 29 members of the band will race into history as their Pennsylvania-based tech company takes the grid for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The No. 26 machine of Carlos Muñoz will take on the blue wings of United Fiber & Data for May’s historic event.
“Music and fast cars go hand-in-hand and nothing says rock n’ roll more than the Indy 500,” said multi-platinum guitarist Chad Taylor of the band LIVE. “It’s going to be fun to see what Carlos can do, he’s proven to be a strong competitor on ovals, and having already won an Indy 500 ring with Ryan Hunter Reay… I’m thirsty for some more milk. No doubt this sport is addictive and having the band LIVE on the car is an honor.”
Added Bill Hynes, Founder & CEO of United Fiber & Data (UFD), “The 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is a signature milestone in the history of ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.’ We could not pass up the opportunity to sponsor Carlos Muñoz and Andretti Autosport for the 100thRunning of the Indy 500. As the largest attended sporting event in the world of auto racing, the 100th Running of the Indy 500 will allow UFD to demonstrate the diversity and speed of our strategic fiber-optic offerings to a global audience.”
“United Fiber & Data has come back strong in 2016 and we’re pleased to have Carlos carry the UFD colors for the Indy 500,” said team owner Michael Andretti. “We look forward to having Bill, Chad and the band join us for the historic race.”
