“Showing up for the first race of the season, and obviously the most exciting race of the year because you want to know where you stand agains the competition. It couldn’t have started any better for the No. 41. We have a lot of pace and we could have been three to five tenths quicker than the rest of the field all day. To be able to come away with a strong heat win is a good feeling and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. The Beetle is awesome and I couldn’t be more happy for our partners Volkswagen and Shark Week.”

NO. 34 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK BEETLE

“Rollercoaster first day of the 2015 season. The Beetles put in two great qualifying laps with a one-two finish, which is amazing. This is the first time you stack up your toys against everybody else’s, so it’s nice to come out on top in qualifying and show the speed. Scott (Speed) had a great walkaway heat, I had a good start in mine but ended up being a little cnservative than too aggressive on the brakes. I had to fight back, but tomorrow is a whole new day with a lot of racing, so hopefully it will be a little cleaner fo the Rockstart Energy Drink Beetle.”
