INDIANAPOLIS (March 16, 2026) – Andretti Global, a racing team under the TWG Motorsports umbrella, announced today that Freddie Slater and Callum Voisin will represent Andretti Formula E at the Madrid Rookie Test at Circuito del Jarama, following Round 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

British standout Slater will make his Andretti Formula E debut at the rookie test after a rapid rise through the junior ranks. The 17-year-old has claimed titles in the UAE and Italian Formula 4 Championships as well as the Formula Regional European Championship, and most recently finished second overall in the 2026 Formula Regional Oceania Trophy with three victories and a pole position. Slater was recently confirmed as the first driver signed to Audi Revolut F1 Team’s new Driver Development Program and has already begun his 2026 FIA Formula 3 campaign with Trident, finishing second in the Feature Race on debut and currently sits third in the Drivers’ Championship standings as the highest-placed rookie.

Joining the Brit in Madrid is Callum Voisin, another promising young talent who has emerged from the British junior racing ladder in recent years. The British-Swiss driver first made his mark in karting, finishing third in the Rotax Junior category of the 2020 British Kart Championship, before progressing into single-seater racing, where he went on to claim the 2023 GB3 Championship with Rodin Carlin, securing multiple race wins, pole positions and podium finishes. Voisin has since expanded his experience across multiple categories, competing in the Asian Le Mans Series LMP3 class with High Class Racing and recently joining Rosland Gold Racing by Century Motorsport in the Porsche Carrera Cup. He also gained previous Formula E experience during the 2025 Berlin Rookie Test, finishing an impressive fifth fastest overall on debut in his first outing in Formula E machinery.

This year’s rookie test marks the first time the session has taken place outside of Berlin since 2023. The test will run on the 3.934km, 14-turn Circuito del Jarama, located just outside Madrid. The permanent circuit, which previously hosted Formula E’s preseason test in 2024 following the cancellation of the Valencia test, presents a technical challenge with narrow, undulating sections, significant elevation change and constant direction shifts.

The Madrid Rookie Test will feature two dedicated on-track sessions on Sunday, March 22, the day after the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix. Live timing updates will be available on the Formula E website.

ROGER GRIFFITHS, TEAM PRINCIPAL, ANDRETTI FORMULA E:

“We’re pleased to announce Freddie and Callum as our rookie test drivers for Madrid. Freddie has been widely recognized as one of Britain’s most exciting young talents, which he has backed up with recent success in Italian F4 and FRECA, while also earning an F1 development role with Audi, further underlining his credentials. Callum, meanwhile, has impressed throughout his rise through the junior ranks, highlighted by winning the 2023 GB3 Championship and continuing to build experience across multiple categories. He also showed well during his previous Formula E outing at last year’s Berlin Rookie Test, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do with us during the Madrid Rookie Test.

The rookie test is hugely important for us as it’s effectively the only in-season test day we get as a customer team, so running high-quality drivers is essential. While a quick lap time is always nice to have, we’re looking at how drivers work and react in a highly professional motorsport environment with our engineers, how they debrief the car and how quickly they adapt to the complexity of a Formula E car. It also provides crucial time for further improvement and correlation of our simulator, which is instrumental in long-term development throughout the season.

Ultimately, this lineup reflects our wider commitment to developing future talent and showcasing Formula E to young drivers. Giving them early exposure to the challenges and complexities of the Championship allows them to properly understand what Formula E offers. While many drivers initially have their sights set on Formula 1, experiencing Formula E at this level may encourage them to consider it as a future destination for their careers.”

FREDDIE SLATER, ROOKIE TEST DRIVER, ANDRETTI FORMULA E:

“Obviously, I’m very excited to get my first taste of Formula E machinery. It’s been something I’ve been looking forward to for a while now, having always wanted the opportunity to drive an all-electric racecar. The Andretti name is incredibly iconic in motorsports, so having the opportunity to work with such a historic and successful organization means a lot. I just can’t wait to get started.”

CALLUM VOISIN, ROOKIE TEST DRIVER, ANDRETTI FORMULA E:

“I’m very excited to be joining Andretti Formula E for this year’s rookie test. It will be my first time driving with Andretti and at the Jarama Circuit in Madrid, so I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity. I had a positive test last year at the Berlin Rookie Test, so I can’t wait to build on what’s been a fun and different experience to what I’m used to. I can’t thank Andretti enough for the opportunity and I can’t wait to get going.”
