Andretti Formula E Brings Momentum and a Bold New Look to Miami Home Race

1.30.26

Fresh from a hard-fought top-five finish in Mexico City, Andretti Formula E heads into its home race in Miami carrying momentum, history and a bold new identity. Formula E returns to South Florida this weekend for the team’s 18th race start on home soil, with the Championship visiting the Miami International Autodrome for the first time.

The 14-turn, 2.320 km MIA Loop configuration, a slightly shorter version of the layout used during last year’s EVO Sessions event, is set to challenge the 20 drivers, with its smooth, resurfaced asphalt expected to evolve rapidly as rubber builds up across the weekend.

Adding to the occasion, Andretti will debut a new look for the remainder of Season 12 following the launch of its partnership with TWG AI, as the American squad aims to deliver for home fans in a city where it has led more laps than any other team.

Andretti Formula E

  • On Thursday, January 29, Andretti Formula E took over Ocean Drive with a police-escorted showrun ahead of the 2026 Miami E-Prix. The spectacle showcased the official ABB FIA Formula E Safety Car (Porsche Taycan Turbo GT), driven by Nerea Martí with Felipe Drugovich as passenger, alongside a Formula E race car in the team’s newly released livery, driven by Season 9 World Champion Jake Dennis.
  • The 2026 Miami E-Prix will be the third edition of a Formula E race held in the Florida coastal city, with all three races having been held in different locations (Biscayne Bay – 2015, Homestead – 2025, Miami Gardens – 2026).
  • The 2026 Miami E-Prix will mark Andretti Formula E’s 18th race on home soil, with the team having led more laps in Miami than any other competitor (19).
  • The inaugural Miami E-Prix in 2015 saw Andretti Formula E’s Jean-Éric Vergne secure pole position, and teammate Scott Speed make his series debut for the team as one of four Americans to have raced for Andretti Formula E to date. Speed went on to finish second, making him the most recent driver to claim a podium in their Formula E debut, and the only American driver to date to stand on a Formula E podium.
  • The Indianapolis-based squad remains the only team to have led laps in both previous Miami E-Prixs, while also being the sole team to record two front-row starts in the city.
  • Andretti Formula E drivers have scored a total of 176 Championship points across previous races in the United States. Additionally, they are the only team to have recorded over 20 points scored in all four American cities that Formula E has visited (Miami, Long Beach, New York, Portland) – scoring points in all but two of the 17 American E-Prixs to date.
  • The U.S. team has claimed six podiums in the United States; three in New York and one each in Miami, Long Beach and Portland.

Jake Dennis

  • In last season’s Miami E-Prix, Jake Dennis reached the Qualifying Duel Finals and claimed his 14th career front-row start.
  • The Brit is currently on a six-race scoring streak for U.S. races, stretching back to the 2022 New York City E-Prix I in Season 8.
  • Dennis has finished in points-scoring positions in each of his last six races in the United States, and he could reach 700 Formula E career points should he score three points at the 2026 Miami E-Prix.
  • During Dennis’ Semi-Final Qualifying Duel at Formula E’s 2023 Portland E-Prix, the Brit set the fastest lap ever recorded in Formula E at the time, clocking an average speed of 103.52mph (166.60 km/h).

Felipe Drugovich

  • Felipe Drugovich arrives in Miami for Round 3 with history on his side, every Andretti Formula E driver to race in the city has scored points.
  • The 2026 Miami E-Prix is the Brazilian driver’s fifth Formula E race. His teammate, Dennis, achieved his first points for Andretti in his fifth race.

“We’ve built strong momentum during the past few rounds and in Valencia pre-season testing, so there’s no reason we can’t carry that into our home race. The Miami circuit is quite short with predicted lap times close to a minute, so we’re going to see some really close gaps throughout the race weekend. It’s crucial that we’re on the right side of a tenth during Qualifying, as it’s going to potentially determine how your weekend goes. We’re going to focus on getting the car into a good window, getting all of the basics right, and then we can fine-tune things when we get into Free Practice 2. The team and I have a good track record from racing in the U.S., with points from all of our home races together so far, but I want to try and get up on that top step. That’s the ultimate goal for this weekend, to be on top in front of all the American fans.”

“There’s still plenty for us to learn from last time out in Mexico City. I’m learning every lap and trying to understand how to extract the maximum out of the car, especially in Qualifying, where this year you really only get one strong chance before tire temperatures become an issue. It’s going to be very important for the rest of the year that I can predict and understand what the differences are heading into a Free Practice session versus Qualifying, for example. Mexico was the first non-peloton race that I’ve done in Formula E, which was good to experience.

I’m very excited for the Miami race. It’s going to be a special feeling racing for an American team in the U.S., especially with all the exciting news we’ve had coming into the weekend. It’s going to be a new track for the majority of the drivers, with some having driven there last year at EVO Sessions, but obviously not in full anger. It looks like it’s going to be a fun track to drive, and I’m looking forward to being back in that part of the world. I always feel very welcomed in the U.S., and there are lots of Brazilians over there too, so hopefully we have a lot of fans supporting us.”

Roger Griffiths

Team Principal

I’d like to start by stating that as we head into our home race in Season 12, we’re extremely pleased to welcome TWG AI to the team. Having this new partnership announced at our U.S. race feels like a validation of all the work done both on and off the track by everyone in the organization. Not just the race results, but across the board with the commercial, marketing, communications and social media teams. It’s been a team effort to get to this in place and we’re very excited for all that’s to come.

Our previous outing in Mexico City highlighted that Formula E never stands still, you always need to be analyzing, reflecting and being critical of yourself to get the best from everyone. We now understand where the Mexico race got away from us and we’ve been working hard to ensure we’re in a better position come Round 3. With the Miami E-Prix being a new race location for the whole paddock, it will be a case of who can hit the ground running the fastest and be closest to the mark from the outset. Hopefully, we get an early read on our performance from the Free Practice 0 session with Dennis Hauger and build from there.

I’m never sure if in motorsport there’s such thing as a ‘home field advantage’, but it always helps to have passionate American fans cheering us on from the grandstands. As always, we’re aiming to have both cars in the points and ideally at least one on the podium in front of all our home fans and partners.”
