The Andretti Formula E duo will tackle a challenging 19-turn, 2.6 km circuit featuring the legendary Estadio GNP Stadium section, completing 36 laps — the longest race distance ever scheduled for a Formula E event on the current track layout. Set at an altitude of 2,310 meters in one of the world’s largest cities, the race promises to deliver another thrilling chapter in the Championship as Andretti Formula E looks to bounce back after a difficult start to the season.

Mexico City E-Prix

  • Hosted at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the 2025 Hankook Mexico City E-Prix will mark the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s ninth visit to the capital city.
  • Mexico City made its debut in the all-electric series during Season 2 back in 2016 and has since hosted two season openers (Season 9, Season 10).
  • The Mexico City E-Prix is one of the most popular races on the Formula E calendar, regularly attracting over 40,000 passionate fans and often resulting in a sold-out event.
  • Starting on the traditional start finish straight, the Formula E grid completes a shortened version of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez track and races through the legendary Estadio GNP Stadium section.

Andretti Formula E

  • The Andretti Formula E team has had strong success at the Mexican capital in the past, earning one victory, two podiums, nine top-10 finishes, two fastest laps and 30 laps led.
  • Andretti Formula E drivers have finished 98% of racing laps at the Mexico City E-Prix, with only one of the team’s drivers failing to finish in Mexico (António Félix Da Costa, Season 3).
  • The Andretti Formula E team holds the joint record for claiming the most fastest laps with two in Mexico City (Alexander Sims – Season 6, Jake Dennis – Season 9).
  • Season 9’s Mexico City E-Prix is one of only two races that both Andretti Formula E drivers reached the Duel Semi Finals in the same qualifying session (Dennis, Lotterer), the other being the 2024 Berlin E-Prix II in Season 10 (Dennis, Nato).
  • During the Season 6 Mexico City E-Prix, Andretti Formula E driver Alexander Sims gained the most places any Andretti driver has in Mexico City (13). Only three other drivers have gained more places in a Mexico City E-Prix.

Jake Dennis

  • Jake Dennis won the Season 9 Mexico City E-Prix by over seven seconds, which, at the time, was the largest margin of victory set by an Andretti driver. This margin was bettered by Dennis’ victory in last season’s Diriyah E-Prix I, when he won by over 13 seconds.
  • Dennis still holds the record for the fastest race lap (1:14.195) around the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, which he set back in Season 9.
  • On his way to victory during Season 9, Dennis led 30 laps. Andretti drivers have only previously led over 30 laps in two other Formula E races – Season 8’s London E-Prix I and Season 10’s Diriyah E-Prix I, both by Dennis.
  • During the Season 10 Mexico City E-Prix, Dennis advanced through the field from his starting position of 14th to claim a points-scoring finish, crossing the line in ninth.
  • Dennis has finished in the top 10 at every Mexico City E-Prix, including Season 7’s relocated doubleheader in Puebla.

Nico Mueller

  • Nico Mueller has never been outqualified by his teammate in his three Formula E race starts in the Mexican capital.
  • Driving for his previous team, Mueller was tagged from behind by TAG Heuer Porsche’s António Félix da Costa on Lap 3 in Turn 3, effectively ending the Swiss driver’s Season 10 race in Mexico.

“It’s been nice to have some time to be able to switch off, but I think everyone is eager to get going again. Obviously, the result in São Paulo was a disappointment, but I think we showed good race pace and a strong qualifying performance. Looking ahead to Mexico I’m super excited to go back there racing again. It’s always a great atmosphere and we’ve generally had quite good performances there – my favorite being the victory we took back in Season 9. It’s a really challenging circuit, particularly in regard to the braking zones where it can be very easy to make mistakes which can cost a lot of lap time. If you can hit your marks and have a good, balanced car underneath you, there’s a strong chance of fighting for the front row. That’s the aim heading into the weekend, as well as trying to get our first podium of the season.”

“I’m very keen to get back to racing. It’s been nice to enjoy the festive season with family and friends, but I can’t wait to get back on track. São Paulo wasn’t a straightforward weekend with the abrupt early end to our race in an incident that we couldn’t do anything about. However, we’ve seen that the package is strong, and it was important to get that first weekend under our belts. When you come into a new team and work together for the first time, it’s crucial to get the ball rolling and point out the areas that work well and what can be improved. That’s what we’ve taken away from Brazil and worked on in the break to ensure we’ve learned the basics together and we’re ready to come back stronger when we go again in Mexico. In that respect, São Paulo was a valuable weekend, even though the result didn’t indicate it. Heading to Mexico, our objective is to get our season started properly and make sure we have a smooth weekend from the beginning to the end. I’m confident that if we can execute that, we can have a good race and take home some points. The race itself is one of the best on the calendar with an awesome atmosphere and very passionate fans. We’re all looking forward to being back there and have been putting in the work to extract the most out of it.”

Team Principal

“Our double DNF in São Paulo was obviously not how we wanted to start the season, especially after the competitiveness we showed in preseason testing. The overriding positive, however, was that Jake was never outside of the top three during practice and qualifying, so we know that the potential is there. The race was a case of misfortune for both cars as opposed to being uncompetitive, that would be a very different story. Since the opening race, the work going on behind the scenes has been pretty much flat out with good progress being made on our simulator program, and I have no doubt that we will arrive in Mexico competitive. Even if our past success is not an indicator of what the future might hold, our previous outings in Mexico City do provide the team with an increased level of confidence heading into the race weekend. One of the best aspects about the Andretti Formula E team is our fighting spirit, and I’m sure we will see that come into play in the new year and fresh start to Season 11.”
