James Roe Returns to Andretti Global for 2025 INDY NXT Season
INDIANAPOLIS (October 16, 2024) – Andretti Global announced today that James Roe will return to Andretti INDY NXT for the third consecutive year piloting the No. 29 Topcon Andretti Dallara. The INDY NXT veteran will join already announced Andretti INDY NXT teammates Lochie Hughes and Salvador de Alba for the upcoming season.
Roe kicked off his 2024 season with a podium finish in INDY NXT’s second round at the physically demanding Barber Motorsports Park and a top-five finish to open the month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After a strong start to the year, Roe suffered a wrist injury at the Detroit Grand Prix only five races into the season. Determined to continue competing, he underwent minimally invasive surgery and was able to complete the full 14-race calendar. The Irish driver made an impressive comeback at Iowa Speedway, scoring his first INDY NXT career pole position in track record-breaking fashion and translating that into his second podium finish of the season. Roe finished the 2024 season with seven top-10 and five top-five finishes.
A long-time partner of Roe, Topcon will remain in their primary position across the No. 29 livery for the 2025 INDY NXT season with Ring Power Corporation set to return as an associate partner.
Roe will begin preparations for the 2025 season on October 18 at the Chris Griffis Memorial Test on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course representing the Andretti INDY NXT team.
