INDIANAPOLIS (July 31, 2024) – Andretti Global announced today that Jamie Chadwick will test with the Andretti INDYCAR team following the completion of the 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone season. When she takes to the track September 30 at Barber Motorsports Park, Chadwick will be the first female INDY NXT race winner in over a decade (Mann, 2011) to receive an NTT INDYCAR SERIES test.

The 26-year-old British driver made the move to American open-wheel racing in 2023, joining the Andretti INDY NXT team as the first full-time female driver in the feeder series in 13 years and scoring five top-10 finishes in her rookie season. Chadwick’s 2024 sophomore season with Andretti INDY NXT has been one for the history books with a podium finish on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, the best INDY NXT finish for a woman since 2010 (Mann, Kentucky Speedway), and a win from the pole at Road America, making her the first woman to earn a pole on a road or street course, the first woman to win an INDY NXT race on a road or street course and only the third woman to capture victory in series history. Chadwick currently sits fifth in the INDY NXT Championship standings with four races remaining in the 2024 season.

Prior to joining the Andretti INDY NXT team in 2023, the three-time W Series Champion came to the U.S. with an already impressive resume, including W Series’ records for most wins, podiums, pole positions and points over her three-year career. She was also the youngest driver – and first female – to win a British GT Championship and BRDC British Formula 3 race. She additionally won the 2018-19 MRF Challenge Championship.

With over 20 years of on-track success, Andretti Global has proudly supported the development of young drivers and emerging talents seeking to advance their careers. With a large portion of current and past INDYCAR drivers participating with Andretti in the INDY NXT Series, including current Andretti INDYCAR drivers Colton Herta, Kyle Kirkwood and Marco Andretti, the Andretti organization has prioritized opportunities for young drivers with strong potential, like Chadwick, to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.

JAMIE CHADWICK, DRIVER, ANDRETTI INDY NXT:
“I’m incredibly excited to be testing in INDYCAR for the first time with Andretti Global at Barber Motorsports Park later this year. I want to say a huge thank you to the team for this opportunity. It is for sure one I am going to relish. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES remains my goal, so I cannot wait to learn as much as possible on that day at one of the most demanding tracks on the calendar.”

MICHAEL ANDRETTI, CEO AND CHAIRMAN, ANDRETTI GLOBAL:
“It’s been a pleasure watching Jamie grow as a driver in our INDY NXT program. The work she put in during the winter after her rookie season is obvious, and we’ve been impressed with the progress she’s made. The INDY NXT field is really competitive this year and what Jamie has been able to do is a testament to the level of skill and potential she has. We believe in rewarding hard work and results and are excited to give her this opportunity. We’re all looking forward to seeing what she can do in September.”
